Fw: Chike Ofili Marks 40 with 3 B00ks hosted on Website, Nov 10




Dear Writer,
 
I am very delighted to let you into a well-kept secret that has taken all manner of speculations , exagerations and reductions.I am glad to let you know that i will be 40 years old om Mon. November 10 without a wife and wealth enough to attract the type that deserves me.
 
My restless life as some friends have always harped upon, has snatched some meaning through the pen.I will on November 10 as i re-mourn the death of Ken Saro- Wiwa, will try to hoist three books on a new website created in part for that purpose since i coudn't be satisfied with the cover designs that would have made me come out with two of the more recent of the books.So i decided to hoist my thoughts on the world wide web.So you should be reading in part:
 
Segun Olusola: A Bridge Across Divides;
 
Fela's Re-arrangement: A Collage of the Poetic Biography of Nigeria's Folkhero of Afrobeat Music,
 
and my collection of poems:The Weight of Waiting, all of which will be on: www.reputationsconsulting.com and my blog on Mon. November 10.
 
Other works of mine in the making are The Biography of Nollywood: The Genius of the Indegenous Nigerian Movie, and The Biography of Advertising: The Handmaiden of Commerce.
 
I will be as available to read anything from you as i will also be on hand to be asked out, walked to the altar and receive your gifts of love, and a party.
 
You should hear of my Book Party plans for the last Saturday in November, all things being equal.

Update:Lagos Writers Celebrate Obama, host Ted Mukoro iconic Copywriter, Actor; & ANA Literary Journalist Winners

Following the historic victory of our own Barack Obama as an American political giant killer, and a definer of a new path, ANA Lagos will be taking some time out to celebrate the import of this Black hope, cerebrally.

Dear Writer/journalist,
 
It is heartwarming to let you know that the just concluded ANA Zamfara 2008 is one that has most treated writers with a lot of star-studded respect. The new baby Chapter of the ANA Zamfara simply began life by skipping crawling into running well ahead of other chapters with its command of state assistance emboldened by its education driven state governor.
 
 
Nigerian's veteran and iconic copywriter and advertising man, Uncle Ted Mukoro who just turned 80 in October will be hosted by Lagos writers.The famous copywriter of star beer's "shine shine bobo" advertisement and a major hand that built Star beer into market success will be on hand to solve two major problems for writers. He would be interesting writers in "The Commercial craft of Copywriting" as part of this administration's campaign promise to train writers in writing related professions in order to secure job opportunities in our field of writing in order to provide a set of financially empowered ANA members capable of growing the association.
 
Uncle Ted who is also a veteran actor who has traversed radio, television and home video acting, the famous first Headmaster in the Nigerian longest TV serial, The Village Headmaster. He would be addressing the failing craft of playwriting that ANA panel of judges over the years have not found fit to award the ANA drama prizes. He would be speaking on "Understanding Playwriting from the Lenses of an Actor".
 
As our guest writers for the month of November, we shall be hosting the two joint winners of the ANA/Anyiam Osigwe prize for literary journalism: Mr. Yemi Adebisi of the Daily Independent newspapers and Miss Evelyn Osagwe of The Nation newspaper two new blessing to literary journalism in Nigeria who approach their work with naked commitment without the split commitment between professionalism and profiteering.
 
On the same Saturday November 8,  at the ANA Lagos will be hosting one of its committed members Mr. Adewusi, whose new novel, The Rage of Love, a story of an African in diaspora in love under book presentation.

Place: The Aina Onabolu Wing of the National Theatre,  Costain, Iganmu, Lagos.
